Although fans of "The Big Bang Theory" should not hold their breath in anticipation for Leonard and Penny's wedding day, viewers can expect to see the couple hit other milestones in their relationship when the comedy series returns from its winter hiatus.

During an interview with TVLine, executive producer Steve Molaro revealed that the show's writers "aren't in a rush for a Leonard and Penny wedding." However, he teased that upcoming episodes will address other steps in their engagement, including "future living arrangements regarding Sheldon."

Molaro also teased that the show will pay tribute to Carol Ann Susi, the late actress who played the voice role of Wolowitz's mother.

"The death of Carol will be dealt with. We just needed time to process the loss of our friend," said the EP.

In regard to the progress that Sheldon and Amy have made in their relationship, Molaro said: "We are discovering the show, the relationships, the problems, as we go along. It's more a discovery process than a planning one."

TV viewers can also expect to seei more of Raj's love interest Emily, played by actress Laura Spencer, during the rest of the season. In an interview with TV Guide, Spencer said that she is sure her character will return to the show, although her next appearance was pushed back due to a last-minute scheduling change.

"They needed to focus on some other plotlines, but I will be coming back," Spencer said. "They called me and said, 'Don't worry, we love you. We're having you back soon. We just want to let you know. Sorry for the changes.'"

She also shared her thoughts about Emily's budding romance with Raj.

"I think anything with her and Raj is possible. I didn't know they were going to make Emily remotely creepy at all. What if they're engaged? You never know!" said Spencer.

"They're different. I think that's why they work. She's a creepy weirdo!" Spencer added. "I'm assuming Emily has never dated anyone like him. I think she's amused by his quirks and seeing the benefit of somebody who has a different type of personality than she has, and vice versa. She likes his nerdiness," she said.

"Obviously, he's excited that he's dating Emily. I think there's equal excitement from both ends. They enjoy each other's oddities."
