Marvel has released the first poster and trailer to the upcoming "Ant-Man" adaptation slated for this summer.

The new poster reveals a small man in the center of a white poster and the title of the film.

It also shows Marvel's logo and the date of the release. In contrast to Marvel's previous posters, this one is quite different from any of the films they have produced. Rather than show a poster of the hero or a floating face, the company decided to be creative. The poster enhances the superheroes power to shrink.

Along with the poster, Entertainment Weekly released the first look of Paul Rudd in the Ant-Man costume. In the front-cover of the magazine a magnifying glass enhances the image of the poster and shows Rudd in the iconic red suit.

On the same day, the trailer to the film was also revealed during Marvel's latest show "Agent Carter." The trailer showcases glossy visuals that resemble the look of "Iron Man" and "Captain America." It also showcases comedic scenes mixing them with fast action sequences. According to the trailer, the film seems to be a redemption story about a hero getting a second chance and returning to his family.

It also shows the usual scientific experiments that audiences have already been accustomed to in a Marvel flick. One of the interesting visual aspects that will be seen in the movie is the superhero riding a small insect, which is a trademark of the comics.

"Ant-Man" is part of Marvel's Phase 3 superheroes and it is likely the film will connect to the third Avengers movie, "The Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1". Paul Rudd is signed to do more than one "Ant-Man" film" and with Agent Carter, played by Hayley Atwell in the film, it is likely Captain America or another Avengers will be referenced.

However, to date the studio has yet to announce a sequel. Marvel is expected to release a third "Thor" film, three "Avengers" films and "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." There are also plans for a "Black Panther" film starring Chadwick Boseman, "Inhumans" and "Captain Marvel."

"Ant-Man" is due out on July 17 and the film tells the story of con-man Scott Lang, who must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

"Ant-Man" was delayed for a number of months after Edgar Wright dropped out of the film due to creative differences. The studio had to scramble for another director and as a result, Marvel hired Peyton Reed, who is known for his work on "The Break-Up," "Down with Love" and "Yes Man."

"Ant-Man" also stars Michael Douglas ("Traffic"), Hayley Atwell ("Captain America: The First Avenger"), Evangeline Lilly ("The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies"), Judy Greer (Men, Women, & Children), Corey Stoll ("Midnight in Paris"), Michael Pena ("Cesar Chavez," "End of Watch") and Bobby Cannavale ("Blue Jasmine"). The movie will open opposite "Trainwreck" and the highly anticipated and critically acclaimed documentary "The Look of Silence."
