If you're a seasoned "Starcraft 2" veteran, then you probably already know that getting your build order down in the first few minutes of the game is crucial. One misstep, and you could be as good as dead, especially if you're playing against a seasoned opponent. That extra 10 to 15 seconds you gave to your opponent when you began building the wrong structure, realized your mistake, canceled construction and started to rebuild is all the time enemies need to waltz into your base unopposed, wreck everything in sight, and win the game.

Such is life when you're playing "Starcraft 2." If you just get your build order down to the point where it's second nature, however, then it's fairly easy to avoid such mistakes.

Here, we'll explore what build order you should adopt when playing on the Terran side. While there are multiple build orders you can use to match up against different races and scenarios, the order here can be used against any enemy.

"Starcraft 2" Build Orders: How to Build Against Any Enemy as Terran

According to Osiris Starcraft 2 Guide, for this build, you want to start off by building 10 SCVs as fast as possible.

From there, build a Supply Depot, which will allow you to build even more SCVs. Once your 12th SCV is out, start building a Barracks, which will then give you the ability to train troops.

With your 13th SCV, build a Refinery so you can begin to harvest Vespene Gas.

As soon as your 15th SCV is out, you should start training your first Marines. Keep in mind that you should be building as many SCVs as your economy allows you to. Keep that queue as maxed out as possible.

From there, you should start building a Factory once you have your 16th SCV, along with an Orbital Command building.

Next up is another Refinery when your 17th SCV is out, as you'll need more Vespene Gas in order to get a steady supply of gas-hogging units later in the game.

From there, you should build another Supply Depot when you have your 18th SCV.

Finally, you should get a second Factory by the time you have your 22nd SCV.

Voila! That's it.

This standard Terran build should suit you for most situations, whether you're playing against Terran, Zerg or Protoss enemies. Some builds are tailored towards combating one race or another, but if you play in team games on Battle.net, it's great to know that your build can be used against anyone, especially if your enemies are listed as "Random," and you have no clue what race they'll be until you see them in-game.
