Another celestial show astounded sky watchers last night as a penumbral lunar eclipse was visible in the night sky.

According to the National Geographic News, the October full moon, known as the Hunter's Moon, will be a little less sparkly this year as the moon's southern side dips into the Earth's shadow. "What is happening is that Earth's outer, pale shadow is falling on the outer edge of the lunar disk," the site wrote.

The penumbral lunar eclipse is often hard to be seen by the public at night. However, CBS News reports that should the weather permit, people from Africa, Western Asia, Europe and parts of North and South America will be able to view the moon.

National Geographic News also notes that the penumbral lunar eclipse will be on-going as soon as the moon rises and will be at its deepest at 7:50 p.m. EDT. For those who won't be able to watch the eclipse live in the night sky, Slooh Space Camera will be broadcasting the sky event live on their site. (View here).

"Although a penumbral lunar eclipse might go unnoticed by someone casually glancing at the moon, we will be able to observe the gradual shading of the moon in the live images Slooh will broadcast throughout the eclipse," Slooh's Paul Cox said in a statement, CBS News reports. "The shading becomes far more apparent when viewed as a time-lapse, and we'll show viewers that during the live segment of the show."

With the event already underway, several people have already savored the view and have also taken images of the beautiful night sky phenomenon.

Here are some of the photos taken by people and posted online.
