Miss Bumbum 2015: Mexican Competition Uses Blind Voting Ahead of Next Cut
There are now 12 contestants in the Miss Bumbum Mexico competition.
For the first time, Mexico is adapting the popular Miss Bumbum Brazil competition with a few modifications. On its Facebook page, it asked fans to help narrow down the contestants.
Two images were posted of the women, but neither included any of their faces. The first one featured the women from about the neck down to their knees. Each has a number superimposed on their body.
The second image featured the women's derrieres, and it also had a number for each of the women.
"Surprise voting!" the Facebook post said. "Vote for your favorite #Bumbum in the comments by choosing the number of your favorite contestant."
Another image was posted with all of the women posing on a staircase.
The next cut, according to the Facebook page, is on Jan. 16. The competition is slated to finish by the end of January with the semi final taking place on Jan. 23 and the finale on Jan. 30.
The women's images are also on the Miss Bumbum website, but there is no more information about the 12 who are currently in the competition. The women's first names appear on each of the images under the contestant section.
Organizers for Miss Bumbum Mexico said they were looking for more than just a big butt, which is what the Brazilian competition is known for.
"In Brazil, they look for biggest butt. What we look for is for a cute woman with charisma, who is social and has an aesthetic behind," said Fabiola Zamora, a spokeswoman for the event, to La Opinion. "We are emphasizing beauty."
The participants must have been born in Mexico, and the prize includes 100 million pesos.
The judges have not been announced yet, but organizer Alberto Gonzalez explained the judges would be a surprise.
