Ciara and Future Relationship and Baby Boy: Is the 'Body Party' Singer Dissing Ex-Fiancé in Hot 'I Bet' Song Off New Album? [Video]
Ciara has released a brand new single titled "I Bet" off her upcoming sixth studio album.
In the slow-tempo R&B track produced by Harmony Samuels and featuring background adlibs by co-writer Theron Thomas of Rock City, CiCi stands up for herself as a woman.
"I bet you start loving me / As soon as I start loving someone else / Somebody better than you / I bet you start needing me / As soon as you see me with someone else / Somebody other than you," she sings on the hook. "And I know that it hurts / You know that it hurts your pride / But you thought the grass was greener on the other side."
The "Body Party" singer split from Future Zahir Wilburn, her ex-fiancé and father of her baby boy, because of his alleged infidelity.
"He cheated on her. Game over," an insider told Us Weekly in August. "She's devastated. Ciara's focus now is the baby."
With that being said, Ciara also tells off an ex-lover in the song, presumably the "Move That Dope" rapper, for not appreciating her.
"You acting like, you upgraded me, but I upgraded you... You took advantage, I can't understand it," she sings.
Ciara spoke about "I Bet" in an interview with Billboard.
"I imagine this song will be very meaningful for a lot of people. It is much bigger than any one person's experience," she said. "I am truly fulfilled by this experience of making my new music. I was able to create everything I have aspired and hoped for as an artist. It is my favorite album I have made thus far in my career, and so excited to begin my new journey. It is a new me. A new attitude."
"I Bet" is the first single off the follow-up to Ciara's self-titled record released in 2013. Listen to the track below:
