Today, Apple held a press event where the company revealed its new iPad Air, iPad mini, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks. Watch the keynote address here.

iPad Air

The iPad Air is 43 percent smaller than its predecessor. The tablet is 7.5 millimeters thick, 20 percent thinner than earlier models, and weighs one pound, 0.4 pounds less than the iPad 4. It will feature an A7 chip which is eight times faster than the original iPad with 75 times faster graphics performance Wi-Fi will also be twice as fast.

The tablet will start at $499 and is available Nov 1.

iPad mini

The second iPad Mini will also feature the A7 chip, making Wi-Fi twice as fast, but not taking away from its 10-hour battery life.

iPad Mini with Retina display, an Apple-created term that means pixel density "so high the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels from a normal viewing distance, so text and graphics look incredibly sharp," will cost $399.

iPad mini without Retina display will cost $299, a price drop from the first iPad mini, which cost $329.

Both iPad minis will be released Nov. 1 and will be available in black, white, silver and space gray.

MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Pro

The new MacBook Pro features a 13-inch screen and is only 0.71-inches thick and 3.46-pounds. The laptop has a fourth-generation chip with integrated graphics that are 90 percent faster than its predecessor. It also gets up to nine more hours of battery life.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is available today starting at $1,299.

A 15-inch MacBook Pro is also available today starting at $1,999.

The newest 11-inch MacBook Air is available today starting at $999.

The 13-inch MacBook air is available today starting at $1,099.

The Mac Pro will be made in the United States and is targeted toward creative types such as photographers, musicians and filmmakers. It is Apple's fastest laptop and is 10 times faster than a hard drive.

The Mac Pro will be available before the end of the year starting at $2,999.

Mavericks

Apple announced updates to its software system Mavericks, which is free and available today.

The new Mavericks features more efficient memory which will enhance image processing and video. Users will also get an additional hour of web browsing and 1.5 hours more of video play with a full charge.

Users can also look forward to two new Mac apps: Maps and iBooks. The ability to tag documents has also been added

Apple will make the Mac OS and iWork software suite free to all users in order to better compete with Microsoft Office software.

"We want our customers to have our latest software," Tim Cook, Apple CEO said.

Tim Cook also discussed the success Apple has seen since its last event that unveiled the iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c and iOS 7. During the first weekend of sales for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, Apple saw its "biggest iPhone launch - ever," Cook said. The iOS 7 is also a success with more than two-thirds of Apple devices using the updated software and 20 million U.S. listeners listening to over a billion songs via the new iTunes Radio.
