Judge Jomari Goyso Talks Return of Auditions for 'Nuestra Belleza Latina' 2015: Daddy Yankee, Mane de la Parra to Guest Star
"Nuestra Belleza Latina" kicks off its newest season on Jan. 18, and there will be a few new and old things present this year, according to Jomari Goyso.
Goyso stopped by "Despierta America" recently to talk about some of the changes that will take place this season.
"A few years ago, there were auditions," he said. "In the last few years, it hasn't been done. This year, it comes back. To me, that seems like the most interesting part."
Goyso then joked that during auditions women come up and say they are professional dancers, but when they actually start dancing, their moves are unimpressive. Goyso got up to show what some of the lackluster dance moves look like.
According to Goyso, the casting episodes will be fun for the viewers, who will get to know the top 40 contestants. The first two episodes will be auditions. By the third episode, the top 40 women will be revealed.
Daddy Yankee and Mane de la Parra will also make a special appearance on the first episode, Goyso said.
Throughout the interview, Goyso kept referring to fellow judge Osmel Sousa as his grandfather. Goyso said that Sousa wanted to make a spectacular entrance on the show.
Jacqueline Bracamontes, who is the third judge, will be the balancing force between Goyso and Sousa. Goyso admitted that she stole both their hearts.
Puerto Rican beauty queen Mayra Matos will be competing on the show. The former Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2009 will be following in the footsteps of past contestants Aleyda Ortiz, Vanessa de Roide and Melissa Marty, TV y Novelas notes.
Matos' image was used for promotional material, but she eventually confirmed her participation.
"Dear family and friends, many have asked if I have auditioned for 'Nuestra Belleza Latina' 2015," she said. "With these images, the answer is clarified."
