Boxing fans are still hoping the super showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be scheduled in May, but Hall of Fame boxer Oscar De La Hoya believes the fight will not happen.

De La Hoya, one of the biggest boxing personalities pushing for the super fight, thinks Mayweather will not agree to face Pacquiao. Recent reports indicated Pacquiao has already agreed to all terms for the fight, but De La Hoya believes no deal will be finalized because of Mayweather.

"I want that fight to happen, but I have a feeling that it's not going to happen," De La Hoya told BoxingScene. "Bob [Arum] and Pacquiao already conceded to everything. They have their deal in place, so now they are waiting on Mayweather. I just don't think Mayweather wants to fight Pacquiao. I don't think it's going to happen."

De La Hoya said negotiations for fights of that magnitude are too complicated because there are too many factors that should be considered, especially for a fight involving Mayweather.

"There are too many details. I don't know anything about the details and the negotiations, but it's so complicated," De La Hoya said. "I'm sure they are talking rematch, who gets what, if this guy wins the terms change and the numbers change. It's very complicated."

According to reports, several terms have already been finalized. Pacquiao has reportedly agreed to a 60-40 split on fight purse, and both fighters will also undergo random drug testing before the fight. MGM Grand Garden Arena was also mentioned as the venue for the fight, which will likely be scheduled on May 2, ahead of Cinco de Mayo.

Pacquiao, who has been aching to get a shot against his biggest rival, confirmed to Tha Boxing Voice they have already agreed to all terms Mayweather wants and are just waiting for the reigning pound-for-pound king to sign the fight contract.

"My promoter and I, we agreed to all that [Mayweather] wants," Pacquiao said. "We're just waiting for the signed contracts to make it happen. I think it's time for him to say yes because of the calling of the fans. Not me; the fans want it all over the world."

It is unclear at this point, though, whether or not rival networks Showtime and HBO have also agreed to a deal. Mayweather is in contract with Showtime, while Pacquiao is under HBO.
