'Nuestra Belleza Latina' 2015 Recap: Round 1 Kicks Off, The Judges Get Honest
The newest season of "Nuestra Belleza Latina" kicked off with Osmel Sousa boarding a plane to Chicago.
In the style of Queen Elizabeth II at the 2012 Olympics, Sousa had a stunt double pretend to be him and skydive into the Windy City.
In Chicago, Sousa and fellow judge Jomari Goyso were joined by Mane de la Parra in Chicago. Though there were many contestants who failed to impress with their singing and dancing, three women were given a pass from Chicago.
Bridget Ruiz, 23, talked about her mother having cancer and having died in her arms when she was just 18. She sang as her talent and was one of the people the judges were iffy on, but she ended up making it through.
Elsa Chumacero decided to perform magic tricks, which Sousa did not like. He ripped up her ticket, and when she put it back together, he let her through.
Carolina Peguero was back for another chance, and she ended up showing she had grown since last time that she failed to make it to the NBL house.
In Puerto Rico, one of the women who first impressed was Catherine Roldan, but Goyso decided to be honest with her. He asked her to take off all her makeup, especially her purple eyeshadow, which distracted from her eyes.
He also told her that she's not really skilled as a dancer but that he saw something else in her.
In Puerto Rico, where Daddy Yankee was the guest judge, Adamaris Cordero Valentin and Ashley Perez also made it through.
Anayeli Santiago, who auditioned in Texas, also got a pass. Her sister, Maribel de Santiago, has also participated in the competition in previous years.
In Los Angeles, one hopeful tried to get through by stripping to her birthday suit.
Genesis Concepcion, Jennifer Guevara-Campos, Nadjalee Torres, Gloricely Loug and Natalie Bustin Rosas also made it to the next round.
