Univision 'Que Te Perdone Dios' Telenovela Episode 1 Recap and Spoilers: Bruno Finds Out About Renata and Pablo's Secret Romance
"Que Te Perdone Dios" premiered on Monday, Jan. 19 on Univision. Unlike many telenovelas shown on the Spanish-language network, "Que Te Perdone Dios" is first premiering in the United States.
The show's premiere epsiode started in the past, at first focusing on main character Abigail's mother and father.
Abigail's mother, Renata, is the daughter of Bruno, who is a very strict man. He chastises his daughter for picking grapes in front of the family's employees. It's clear right away that she has a relationship with Pablo, as the two share knowing looks. Given her father's overprotective nature, Renata has to sneak out as she skinny dips.
An older man, Fausto, also has his eye on Renata. He wants to marry her.
Macaria tells Bruno that Renata is with Pablo, so Bruno gets his shotgun ready.
Bruno sees Renata and Pablo kissing at his home and tells Pablo that he will kill him.
Renata stands in front of Pablo and tells her father that she loves him. This doesn't make him any more sympathetic, however. Instead, he is upset that his daughter is with someone he considers so below her station.
Pablo also stands up for himself.
"Do it! Do it at once!" Pablo says, as Bruno points the gun at him. "Or let your daughter marry me. Killing me won't stop me from loving her."
It seems Pablo called Bruno's bluff, but he did pay for his words. Bruno used the back end of his gun to knock him out.
Bruno then practically carries off Renata as Pablo is left on the floor bleeding.
Renata's father later goes back to burn Pablo's home while Pablo is presumably inside. Bruno's plans do not go accordingly, as Pablo shows up once again.
Renata is also pregnant, which means more trouble is to come her way.
"Que te Perdone Dios" airs on Univision at 10 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Read more about the telenovela here.
