On Saturday night, R&B singer August Alsina reportedly got into a fight backstage during a show at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis. Ironically, the fight with show promoter Loose Cannon Slim went down prior to Alsina's performance at an anti-violence event.

TMZ obtained video of the backstage brawl that first began with a war of words between Alsina and Slim and later erupted in physical blows between the two men and their posses.

Meanwhile, New York rapper Fabolous is seen standing in the sidelines while the fight goes down.

Although it is unclear what the two men are arguing about in the video, TMZ claims that Slim initiated the argument after Alsina arrived late to his performance.

The tabloid website reports that Alsina has since spoken to them and insists that the real reason for the fight is because Slim allegedly failed to pay him until two hours before the show.

Prior to his backstage scuffle in St. Louis, Alsina was in the center of a very public feud with fellow R&B singer, Trey Songz. In an interview with HotNewHipHop in March, Alsina said the reason he did not get along with Songz was because of his ego during a show in which they were both scheduled to perform.

"Like I tell people all the time, show me that you're this person on day one ... You should always be that person. We were supposed to have a show together and it just went left 'cause I can't deal with ni**as' egos and attitudes 'cause I'm just a real n***a comin' through and I'm rockin'," he said. "Once n***as go to talkin' a certain type of way, that shit ain't gon' fly with me, and that's all that was, and I just had to not do the show 'cause I can't stand on side of a n***a if I really got something that I feel in my heart ... so I just had to dip ..."
