Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James is not giving up in his pursuit of Ray Allen as reports revealed that superstar forward recently reached out to his former Miami Heat teammate.

James recently spent time in Miami to rest his ailing lower back and knee in a more comfortable weather condition, but the four-time Most Valuable Player took advantage of the opportunity.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, James talked to Allen and tried to convince him to sign with the Cavaliers in the hope of winning another NBA championship together -- but this time in Cleveland.

Allen, who developed a strong relationship with James during their two-year partnership in Miami, is on top of the Cavaliers' wish list as they are looking for players to fill the lone spot left in their roster.

James is not the only one recruiting the 39-year-old as reports also indicated that Cavaliers guards James Jones and Mike Miller have also been in contact with Allen. Jones was actually with Allen and James during a vacation at the Bahamas during the offseason.

Cavaliers assistant coach Tyronn Lue also has a deep relationship with Allen after spending time together when the sharp-shooting guard was still playing for the Boston Celtics and Lue was one of then-Celtics coach Doc Rivers' deputy.

Since the offseason, the Cavaliers have been considered as the favorite to land Allen, but several teams who are also looking to contend for the title this season have also expressed interest in the former Connecticut standout.

Previous reports indicated that the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder reached out to Allen, who holds a career average of 18.9 points to go along with 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 18 seasons in the league.

Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders confirmed that the Cavaliers are still high on Allen, but he revealed that the Washington Wizards are the most aggressive in chasing the 18-year veteran.

"Cavs obviously want Ray Allen. But league source says the team that's been most aggressive in pursuing Allen is Wizards. Constantly calling," Kennedy wrote on Twitter. "The Wizards want to reunite Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. They feel Allen's game and veteran leadership would help them as they try to contend."

Allen, who averaged 9.6 points and 2.8 assists in 73 regular-season games with the Heat last season, has been telling interested teams that he will likely make his decision by February.
