Looks like PopCap proved to its word that it will be releasing Plants vs Zombies 2 on Android "very soon", as the game developers have already released the game on the Google-based device.

Several reliable website have already confirmed that EA Games and PopCap have launched the much awaited mobile video game to waiting non-Apple users. Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time is now free for download to Android users, two months after the game made its way to iOS devices.

After releasing it to iOS, PopCap and EA made a soft launch of the Android version in Australia, New Zealand and China. Not long after, rumors surfaced that the game was already available on Google Play for the rest of the world. U.S. gamers though, were quick to say that the game was still not available for download in the country. However, sites are now confirming that every Android gamer in the world can now beat zombies in their backyards.

"Developer Popcap has finally available made the game available elsewhere in the world," wrote The Verge.

"After brief test runs in Australia and New Zealand, EA and PopCap have released Plants vs. Zombies 2 for Android users worldwide," Engadget wrote, adding that PvZ2 is identical with that of the iOS version.

"The war between the botanical and the reanimated corporeal spreads onto Android, where players can do their part by enlisting on Google Play," described Joystiq.

The game is available for download to Android users with version 2.3 (Gingerbread)) and up. So far, the game has more than 500,000 downloads already and has a user rating of 4.1 stars out of 5.
