With the release of their new movie “I Am Michael” coming, James Franco and Zachary Quinto have been releasing new photos from the film, including one of a steamy threesome with co-star Charlie Carver.

The film, set to be released on Jan. 29 at the Sundance Film Festival, features Franco as the titular Michael Glatze, a gay publicist and activist who turns into an ex-gay activist, according to E! News. Quinto star as his boyfriend Bennett.

As the movie is set to be released in a few days, Franco released a new photo on Instagram that shows him and Quinto kissing. He used the hashtag #iammichael and added “premieres at Sundance.”

Carver, who played a werewolf alongside his twin brother in MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” is also in the movie as Tyler, a third lover who partakes in a threesome with the above-mentioned actors.

"They first meet in a club. The music is pumping. It's the nineties!" a source told E! News back in November. "When Charlie's character questions Franco about having a boyfriend, Franco says, 'He'd like you, too.'"

A photo obtained by E! News shows the three actors shirtless and kissing as a teaser for the upcoming movie.

Quinto spoke with the Salt Lake Tribune about his role in the movie and what to expect from it, especially concerning the topic.

"It's a film that doesn't tell the audience how to feel," he said. "It invites you in, it presents you with drama, conflict and emotion, and then it sends you on your way to form your own opinion about something."

The film, directed by Justin Kelly with Gus Van Sant as executive producer, pitches Francos’ character, who says being gay is a choice and a bad one, against Quinto’s character.

“I like what the character that I play represents in the film, which is integrity and groundedness and authenticity and acceptance of who he is," he explained.

The movie is based on the story "My Ex-Gay Friend," written by Benoit Denizet-Lewis and published in the New York Times Magazine.
