Snapchat will soon be broadcasting content from major media channels like CNN and Comedy Central.

Thanks to a new deal announced Tuesday, Snapchat will allow media companies to show off their content to all of Snapchat through the Discover feature.

Snapchat will, of course, sell ads before the videos and articles are shown to Snapchat users. They will share the revenue from the ads with the media companies.

CNN could display short news clips, and Comedy Central could tease some of their upcoming shows, like "South Park."

Warner Music Group will also take part in the Discover feature with Snapchat. DJ Chris Miles will do some voiceovers and introduce new songs from Warner, sources told the New York Post.

Users have assembled video packages, and Snapchat has put them together into one giant Snapchat video for various events around the world. Concerts and holidays are usually big days for Snapchat users to get their chance to be featured in the video mash-up. In fact, Australia Day (Jan. 26) gave the people of Australia the chance to show the world how they celebrate the day.

Instead of simply snapping to friends, users now will be able to Discover content much like they do on the Internet and Facebook through trending topics.

Snapchat is proving very popular among teens aged 14-17, according to surveys, and advertisers are taking note of that. Snapchat's first advertisement came from Universal for its movie "Ouija" that ended up doing well at the box office. The ad for the PG-13 movie was viewed millions of times.

Snapchat is said to be worth $10 billion and could be headed for an Initial Public Offering (IPO). It recently hired Credit Suisse banker Imran Khan. Khan, who led the Alibaba IPO, was named chief strategy officer at Snapchat in December.

If Snapchat goes public, its stock could be very popular. Snapchat says it has 100 million monthly users.

Snapchat previously refused an offer of $3 billion from Facebook.
