Basketball season has just arrived and the Toronto Raptors will be playing against the Milwaukee Bucks on the court. The team's big regular season debuts with a dramatic NBA commercial featuring Drake, who is a vocal fan of his hometown, showing his Raptors pride and discussing about how much he loves his city.

Last month, the "Nothing Was The Same" rapper was named the global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors, which he will be managing the team's clothing line and playing his role as the host at the 2016 NBA All-Star Game. The organization releases an emotional and serious promotional clip, which Drake is reflecting on the team he loves.

With the moody strings and piano on the background, the rapper, in a nice suit, talks about creativity, the game of basketball and inspiration from his hometown. "In everything I do, I try to channel this city," says Drake. "I always feel like an album is finished when it sounds like Toronto."

"I love the city more than anything in the world," the rapper talks about how his hometown inspires his music. "I have the option to live anywhere I want but I always end up coming back home. No matter what. It's tough to put it into words. I always just tell people, 'Listen to the music.'"

"It's a franchise that I'm so excited to be involved in," he continues by discussing his love of the Raptors brand and watching NBA stars Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady. "Because it is a staple in my childhood."

"In college, sports, it's a religion," he also explains what basketball is about. "It's much like soccer overseas. It becomes something you live by, something you die by. They're so passionate about it. I want to bring that energy here."
