NBA 2K14 is known to be as realistic as it gets, so what does it mean when the simulation suggests that the Miami Heat will win an NBA title for the third year in a row?

Samit Sarkar at Polygon wrote about the way the next generation video game depicts the NBA in the upcoming 2013-14 campaign.

"When 2K Sports ran through the real-life season in NBA 2K14, cover athlete LeBron James and his Heat tallied a league-best record of 66-16 to take the Eastern Conference crown; the San Antonio Spurs led the Western Conference with a 51-31 record. The Heat took out the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets on the way to a repeat of their 2013 NBA Finals showdown with the Spurs, and defeated Tim Duncan's squad four games to one.

The game's creators have highlighted the realistic nature of the game in the trailers that have been released so far. With zoomed in views on player's faces and unique characteristics customized for each player, the game presents an incredibly real simulation in ways never seen before.

Furthermore, what should we think about the game picking the Heat to win yet another title? As possible as it is, it could be part of the game's hype surrounding cover athlete LeBron James. The entire game seems to revolve around LeBron and the signature skills are named after him. Even the trailers make LeBron seem like the driving force behind this year's game.

Gamers who want to play NBA 2K14 on the next generation consoles will be able to do so in just a few weeks as the Playstation 4 will be released on November 15 and the Xbox One will follow suit exactly one week later.
