Which Latino Artist Would You Rather See Perform During the Super Bowl Halftime Show? [Poll]
The Super Bowl halftime show has featured younger performers recently. With Beyoncé, Bruno Mars and The Black Eyed Peas taking the reins in the last few years, there has been plenty of opportunity for the most popular artists to take center stage. Katy Perry will take the stage this year, but we feel there are some Latino artists who would put on a great show at the biggest American sporting event of the year.
Enrique Iglesias
Iglesias has an extensive catalog of songs, and the Spanish crooner sings in both English and Spanish. With 2014 hits like "I'm a Freak" and "Bailando," Iglesias would have the crowd moving. Plus, his set would likely have a surprise appearance by Pitbull, who collaborated with Iglesias on "I'm a Freak" and is currently on tour with the singer, and/or Sean Paul, who is featured on "Bailando."
Meanwhile, Iglesias is already one of the most anticipated parts of Spanish-language award shows because he always bring energy.
Pitbull
Cuban rapper Pitbull would also provide a lively show, and he could have stars like Kesha, Jennifer Lopez and Ne-Yo help him sing some of his greatest hits, including "Timber," "On the Floor" and "Time of Our Lives" respectively.
Pitbull was trusted to host the American Music Awards twice, so we think he can pull off the Super Bowl halftime show without getting into trouble.
Jennifer Lopez
J.Lo would put on a great show. The Bronx native is known for her dance moves, and the Super Bowl would be the perfect place to showcase her skills. Lopez performed "Booty" at the American Music Awards with Iggy Azalea recently and ended up being one of the most talked about parts of the show; the Super Bowl would be no different.
Prince Royce
The Latino star has started branching out with his music and is gaining fans in America. He just teamed up with Snoop Dogg for the English-language "Stuck on a Feeling" and is releasing an album in English soon.
Although he is just beginning to diversify, the Billboard Latin Music Award-winning crooner has a ton of hits that we think will charm the audiences.
Romeo Santos
Santos can sell out a stadium -- as a matter of fact, he can do it twice. In March 2014, the bachata singer added a second show at Yankee Stadium after selling out the first show, Billboard reported.
Santos has been successful as a solo artist, as well as with his former group, Aventura.
In addition, just like at his Bronx shows, Santos can call on Marc Anthony, to sing "Yo también," and Prince Royce, who collaborated on "Te Quiero," to make the show even better.
Shakira
The songstress is already beloved by fútbol fans for her hit World Cup songs. With a Super Bowl performance, the singer could also become a fixture for American football.
Not only would she probably come up with a football-themed song just for the occasion, Shakira would also put on quite the show. The Colombian singer could have a part of her performance dedicated to showing off her dancing moves, and she could invite guests like Rihanna, Beyonce and Iggy Azalea, who she has teammed up with for hits "Can't Remember to Forget You," "Beautiful Liar" and an upcoming song respectively.
