Lindsay Lohan DUI Cases: Prosecutors Reportedly Fighting to Have Fan Meetings Not Count as Community Service for 'Mean Girls' Actress
Perturbed prosecutors are asking a criminal court judge not to allow actress Lindsay Lohan to use what they call "meet and greet" sessions with her fans toward the 240 hours of community service is she is required to complete.
During a Wednesday morning court hearing, prosecutors took offense when Lohan's attorney Shawn Holley submitted documentation alleging her client had completed some 80 hours of work over just nine days while recently in London.
According to TMZ, Holley was quick to counter that the previous judge had approved the London facility as a reputable institution to keep track of Lohan's community service work while she was abroad.
Overall, the 28-year-old "Mean Girls" star is required to have all her hours of service stemming from her 2012 no-contest plea on DUI charges completed by the end of the month.Lohan isn't believed to be anywhere close to meeting that requirement, and prosecutors could soon move to seek criminal charges against her that could mean jail time.
Sources add Lohan is now considering throwing herself on the mercy of the court in a plea for time and could cite medical issues born of a mosquito bite as part of her excuse.
At the end of Wednesday's hearing, the judge granted the City Attorney two more weeks to look over and investigate all Lohan's paperwork.
As recently as Sunday, Lohan was spotted still in Paris, partying at the exclusive French club Le Twister.
"She came in with two friends around 3 in the morning and stayed until around 5, 5:30," said a source, adding that she had also been there before. "She danced and amused herself a lot."
Lohan previously served 14 days of a 90-day sentence in 2010 for violating her probation in a differentDUI case. At the time, she was also ordered to spend 90-days in an impatient rehab facility but was released from treatment after just 23 days.
