Kate del Castillo, the phenomenal Mexican actress, who convincingly played the role of Teresa Mendoza on "La Reina del Sur" (The Queen of the South) has decided to use her star power for good and assist Latin American organizations in the fight against trafficking through an informative documentary produced by the Esclavos Invisibles (Invisible Slaves) campaign.

The campaign's intentions are to prevent trafficking in Latin America and raise awareness. The film will share the stories of individuals in Mexico and Guatemala who became victims of human trafficking. Mexico, in particular, has become a hub for salacious activity and trafficking. Said to be an "origin, transit and destination for people trafficking," according to the campaign's organizers.

Castillo, a film actor as well as political one, she was appointed the Ambassador for the Mexican Commission on Human rights in 2009. In 2010, she helped to launch the Blue Heart Campaign, to raised awareness and fight against human trafficking. Though, she has shown controversial support for drug trafficker Chapo Guzman in the past.

"People trafficking affects all of us. There is no doubt about it. It is harming our society every day and will continue to do so as long as we all do not work together to raise awareness, inform and protect the most vulnerable people in Mexico - children, young people and women," Del Castillo said.

MTV Latinoamerica, Calle 13, the Pan American Development Foundation, Fundación Cinepolis, Fundación Telefonica and, mainly, UNICEF are some of the main contributors behind campaign and the film. The documentary will be shown in select theaters and aired on MTV Latinoamerica.
