Best NYC Bars to Watch Super Bowl 2015: Times Square, West Village, Brooklyn, Queens & More [Video]
Whether you are rooting for the New England Patriots or the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX, it is fun to cheer on your favorite team with fellow sports fans. New York City boasts plenty of bars and restaurants with super-sized high-definition screens, drink specials and delicious finger foods.
We have compiled a list of the best parties, both free and those requiring a cover charge, where you can watch the biggest football game of the year.
Tir Na Nog Times Square
This Times Square bar is partial to Patriots fans. Its Super Bowl party has a cover charge of $55 that includes an open bar starting 30 minutes before kickoff until the final whistle, as well as bar snacks, wings and a half-time dinner. If you like to gamble on the big game, the bar has football pools and raffles throughout the event. The bar has 19 HDTVs and a jumbo projector screen to ensure no one misses a play. Located at 315 W. 39th St.
The Bell House
This Gowanus, Brooklyn, venue is offering a free Super Bowl party where fans can watch the game via a big screen. Football fanatics can buy $4 pints from the Red Hook brewery and a barbecue dinner catered by Urban Rustic in Williamsburg. Jumbo chicken wings and pulled-pork sandwiches will also be served. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. The bar is located at 149 Seventh St.
Chapter One
The Super Bowl celebration at the stylish Chapter One bar promises good fare at an affordable price. The tavern's chef is a Patriots fan who will be serving New England clam chowder, 25-cent bourbon-glazed duck wings, $1 pork belly sliders, $1 oysters and free finger food, like sausage pigs in blankets. The drink specials are $1 PBR cocktails and $5 drafts. The tavern is located in the West Village at 33 Greenwich Ave.
Mustang Sally's
Known as an official Seahawk bar in the Big Apple, Mustang Sally's Irish pub in Chelsea welcomes fans ready to cheer on the birds while taking advantage of drink and food specials (not yet announced) and watching the game on a dozen big screens. Located at 324 Seventh Ave.
Louro
Louro's Chef David Santos has signature entrees for both the fans of both football teams covered: Tom Brady's Sausage Rolls with clam chowder for Patriot fans, and Russell Wilson's Signature Seattle Morning Start (thin-sliced salmon with cream cheese and bagel crisps) for Seahawks fans. Other football-friendly morsels will be served. A $75 ticket will get you unlimited food, draft beer and house wine from 5:30 p.m. until the game's end. Located at 142 W. 10th St., West Village.
Posh
Hell's Kitchen gay bar Posh is hosting a free Super Bowl party complete with a live disc jockey and select $3 beers all night. During the Katy Perry halftime show, the D.J. will take a break and the bar will serve free sliders from 123 Burger Shot Beer. The party starts Sunday at 6 p.m. at 405 West 51st Street, Clinton.
Bar 360 at Resorts World Casino
Football fans will appreciate the bar's 16' x 28' massive HDTV screen, which is allegedly the largest in Queens. The $20 ticket will get you a hero, chips and two drafts of domestic beer. Marc Malusis of WFAN and two-time Super Bowl champ Sean Landeta will host a live webcast during the game. At halftime, one lucky fan gets to breakdown the first-half action on-air, plus earn a $100 dining certificate and a chance to win a big screen HDTV.
