Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova will collide for the first Grand Slam title of the year when they face each other anew in the 2015 Australian Open women's singles final on Saturday at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.

Williams, who is looking to win the Australian Open title for the sixth time in her career, booked a spot in the final with a straight-set win against compatriot Madison Keys in the semifinals, which came after defeating 11th seed Dominika Cibulkova in the quarterfinals.

Sharapova, on the other hand, moved one win away from winning her second Australian Open title and sixth Grand Slam with a victory against 10th seed Ekaterina Makarova in the semifinals in straight sets.

Williams and Sharapova are used to facing each other. On Saturday morning, Williams will be a heavy favorite against Sharapova, having dominated the second-seeded Russian in their recent meetings.

Williams, an 18-time Grand Slam champion, won in their last 15 meetings. When asked about her streak against Sharapova, Williams said that she is determined to keep her winning run against the five-time Grand Slam champion alive.

"I take a lot of pride in it," Williams told New York Times, referring to her winning streak against Sharapova. "I think my game matches up well against her. I love playing her. I think it's fun. I love her intensity. For whatever reason, I love playing, I just have the time of my life."

Sharapova's last win against Williams came in 2004, including the win that gave Sharapova her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.

In their last two Grand Slam final meetings, Williams dominated Sharapova in the 2007 Australian Open and 2013 French Open. But despite her bad record against Williams, Sharapova remains confident about her chances on Saturday morning.

"I think my confidence should be pretty high going into a final of a Grand Slam no matter who I'm facing and whether I've had a terrible record, to say the least, against someone," Sharapova said via ESPN. "It doesn't matter. I got there for a reason. I belong in that spot. I will do everything I can to get the title."

The Williams-Sharapova match is expected to start around 3:30 a.m. EST, Friday at Rod Laver Arena. Fans can catch the action on ESPN and through online live stream via WatchESPN and Australian Open Live. Complete Day 13 schedule and match times are available on this link.
