Bobbi Kristina Brown Husband and Married: Whitney Houston’s Daughter's Brain Function Reportedly 'Diminished' After Being Found Unconscious in Bathtub
Saturday morning, nearly three years after her mother Whitney Houston's death, Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, was discovered unconscious and face down in a bathtub in her home in Roswell, Georgia,
The scene was eerily similar to when her mother, 48, was found dead of a drug overdose in a bathtub of hot water on Feb. 11, 2012 -- the day before the Grammy Awards -- in a Beverly Hilton Hotel suite reports the Washington Post.
Bobbi's husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend pulled her from the bathtub. Paramedics were called. Gordon started CPR. Paramedics rushed her to North Fulton Hospital where she was hooked up to a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma. While Brown is still alive, she was without oxygen for an unknown length of time, and sources told TMZ that she has "significantly diminished" brain function.
Bobbi's father, former New Edition singer Bobby Brown, released a statement on Sunday confirming she was taken to the hospital but provided no additional information.
Roswell police spokesman Lisa Holland told reporters on Saturday that investigators are calling it a medical incident. There is no evidence currently that suggests it was a drug- or alcohol-related issue, she said.
Brown had been posting lighthearted messages on Twitter recently, including a photo of a fishtail braid and announcing she wanted to be in the studio to start her career. There were also more cryptic messages. "On my own," she tweeted Thursday afternoon. She also wrote "miss you mommy" with the hashtag #anniversary and a picture of herself.
Bobbi has had her share of controversy since her mother's death. In January 2014, she married Gordon, her step-brother.
In 2005, Brown, born in 1993, joined the family in the reality TV series "Being Bobby Brown." Her parents divorced in 2007. She and Houston sang "My Love Is Your Love" on ABC's "Good Morning America" in 2009.
