Selena Gomez, who recently admitted in an interview with Teen Vogue that's she the girl that you "take home to your parents, not for the night," has to compete with headlines about her ex-beau, Justin Beiber, spending a night out at a Brazilian brothel just a few days ago.

Gomez, 20, and Beiber, 19, had a Disney-caliber romance, which was first established in February 2011, where the two made their first public appearance as a couple at an Oscars' after party.

While the two have hit some speed bumps in their relationship greatly due to Beiber's ex, Jasmine Villegas, and accusations from a cleaning woman who said that Beiber fathered her child, the couple showed their staying power throughout 2011 and most of 2012.

This time last year, the couple broke up for the first time, citing conflicting schedules, which got in the way of the relationship. But, the two quickly rekindled their romance by late December, just in time for the New Year.

From then until July of this year, however, the two gave in and rebuilt their troubled relationship, until they ultimately decided to end things for good.

Gomez, the hopeless romantic, made comments about love, which referenced her previous relationship in her Teen Vogue interview, stating, "You fall in love and it completely consumes you. So a part of you is broken when that's gone."

While there were rumors saying that the two were on the brink of reconciliation, recent reports have placed Beiber in brothels, strip clubs, whorehouses and just about anywhere else Gomez's sparking clean good girl image would never be associated.

Nonetheless, Gomez is focusing less on romance and more on her family, like her mother, with whom she says she shares a "Gilmore girls" sort of relationship; her friends, like Taylor Swift, who she says is a constant source of inspiration; and her own life.

"I'm 21, so now I've entered the decade of confusion about who I am and what I want to do with my life, and that's what this entire decade's going to be," she told Teen Vogue.

Selena Gomez's Teen Vogue issue will his stands Nov. 19.
