Nitty Scott, Brooklyn's rising artist to watch, recently detailed her past relationship with none other than Kendrick Lamar.

While sitting down with Hot 97's morning crew -- Ebro Darden, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Styles -- on Jan. 28, Scott revealed that she once dated K. Dot.

"Shout out to Kendrick, that's the homie," she said. "That was my boo. That was my thing. I was seeing him and him only for at least a year. That is still the homie."

The ex-couple was actually going out even before the release of Lamar's 2011 album "Section. 80" and collaborated together, particularly on Scott's 2012 track "Flower Child."

"The Art of Chill" rapper also explained why her romance with the Compton emcee did not work out. "The people that were in charge of my career in the past, that was a relationship that they were not comfortable with," she said.

"I think that's out of pocket already, simply because I don't think your personal relationships should be determined by people you are involved with professionally," she continued. "But that is what really made it so that it couldn't flourish just because I was told that was not a good look."

In addition, Instagram followers might have noticed that there is a significant change in Scott's feed lately -- in terms of how much she exposes her body nowadays. She explained covering up in the beginning of her career to be respected as a musician and not just as a sexy female.

"It was men that were telling me in the beginning that you can't be this hot and this talented at the same time," she said. "Minds will be blown. We can't handle it. I accepted that bulls--t for a long time and kept myself in this place where I was miserable. People don't know this. People don't know that I was miserable. I would feel like I was completely suppressed."

Scott admitted that she now has more direct messages on Twitter due to her new image.

"I don't have a number, but it's absolutely increased," she added.
