Rumor has it that Wonder Woman will be a character in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, which has been nicknamed "Superman vs. Batman." The newest reports say that Olga Kurylenko is a contender for the role.

Schmoes Know cited a source they call "The Phantom," who shared "what he is hearing on the ground level of studio" via e-mail.

"SUPERMAN VS. BATMAN (Warner Bros.): Olga Kurylenko is testing for the Wonder Woman role," the e-mail said.

According to the website, The Phantom is a "VERY RELIABLE SOURCE."

Kurylenko, 33, is known for being a Bond girl in 2008's Quantum of Solace, and for her role as Julia in 2013's Oblivion, which also featured Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman.

According to Slash Film, Jaimie Alexander, 29, who played Lady Sif in Thor and its sequel, is also a frontrunner for the role.

"At this weekend's Comikaze Expo, the Thor: The Dark World actress revealed that she has met with Warner Bros., possibly about playing Wonder Woman, and probably for Batman vs. Superman," the website said.

It has yet to be confirmed, however, that Wonder Woman will actually be a character in Zach Snyder's Man of Steel sequel. Last month, Greg Silverman, Warner Bros. president of creative development and worldwide production, discussed the possibility during an interview with Variety.

"Wonder Woman is an amazing character. I think it's a great opportunity both for box office success, but also to have an amazingly powerful female superhero," Silverman said. "We are taking it all very seriously and are trying to do a plan that's respectful to those characters and maximizes the stories as best they can. So everything that has been speculated are things that we've thought about."

The Man of Steel sequel will feature Ben Affleck as an older Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill reprising his role as Clark Kent.
