Veterans Day Sale 2013: Where to Find the Best Deals and Discounts
Hailed as the day to honor the men and women who have fought and served our country, Veteran's Day has also become a shopping day for Americans who want to grab big discounts just before Black Friday sales roll. A number of stores already offer big discounts and huge sales on a variety of items. Notably, a number of diners and restaurants also honor former U.S. armed forces by giving out free meals to vets on Monday.
Here's a list of shops that offer great discounts, and restaurants that give out freebies during this weekend celebration:
Celebrating Veteran's Day, the online webstore has gathered a range of discounts and deals for those looking to shop online during this weekend, leading up to Monday's Vet's Day. It offers computer accessories as low as $25, laptops under $400,up to 45% off on Men's and Women's athletic and outdoor clothing, and so much more.
According to Heavy.com, the department store offers 10% off on watches and electronics, and 15% off on jewelries, shoes, clothing and home items. For those shopping online, use the code "VETDAY" on checkout.
The shoe store is offering 30%-50% discount on select styles, including boots and heels during its "Salute To Style" sale.
Aeropostale
The clothing brand is offering big discounts during Vet's Day. Until November 11, the brand will slash off 40% on the first purchased item and 30% off the remaining items on the cart. Use the code: FRIENDS30.
Chili's
The restaurants is giving out free meals (one of seven choices) to past and present U.S. armed forces. The free meal will be given on Monday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proof of service is required.
Applebee's
The resto will again offer current and past servicemen a free meal on Nov. 11. Just present their proof of service and they can choose one in seven entrées offered.
Hooters
The diner is giving away 10 Free Wings to military men - past and present. Proof of service is required.
Subway
The sandwich store is giving out free six inch subs or flatbread to veterans on Monday. Proof of service is required.
