Shia LaBeouf and Jaden Smith Twitter Beef: Will Smith's Son Upset Actor Was Invited to Grammys 2015 But He Wasn't
On Sunday, Feb. 8, Jaden Smith, the son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, took to Twitter to subliminally diss actor Shia LaBeouf for his appearance at this year's Grammy awards.
Smith questioned LaBeouf's appearance at the Grammys and also questioned why he wasn't invited to music's biggest night.
Check out Smith's tweet below.
Following his tweet, a few social media users slammed Smith for coming off as whiny and throwing shots at LaBeouf.
FishWrapper also slammed Smith and encouraged the young rapper to make better music instead of complaining about his Grammy invitation snub.
"Jaden, buddy, how about this: instead of being catty towards Shia about this situation, why not figure out what you could do to put yourself in his situation next year?" Fishwrapper's Emily Trainham wrote. "Or better yet, think about why it matters so much to you. You don't have to dress up and watch Ariana Grande to be serious about music."
Although LaBeouf is not a singer or musician, he was invited to the Grammys to present singer/songwriter Sia's performance of her hit song, "Chandelier." LaBeouf previously appeared in Sia's music video for her song "Elastic Heart" alongside young dancer Madison Ziegler.
When asked to introduce Sia's Grammy performance, LaBeouf read a letter written by Sia's husband, Erik Lang, Rolling Stone reports.
"For Sia: I feel like this may be strange to say this here. I love you so. Punch me if I stop crying," the letter read. "I raised a white flag for you, defeated finally. If strength were made of broken pieces, you and I would always win. It is, though, and building and statues wink at us. I could squeeze you to zero. I'll never know another. What am I going to do? Punch me if I stop crying, and I'll do the same. Love, Erik."
According to Us Weekly, LaBeouf and Lang conspired to read the letter without Sia's knowledge.
