Romeo Santos, Enrique Iglesias & J Blavin Dominate Billboard Latin Music Awards 2015 Finalists
Dominican and Puerto Rican singer Romeo Santos, Spanish crooner Enrique Iglesias and Colombian newcomer J. Blavin have made quite the splash in the Latin music industry and have appropriately nabbed the top spots as finalists for the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2015.
On Monday, Billboard and Telemundo announced the finalists for the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which was broadcast live on the network's morning show "Un Nuevo Dia."
Both chart-topping Latin artists broke the previous record of most finalist nods for a single year, held by Tito El Bambino and Don Omar, who both garnered 18 nods in 2010 and 2013, respectively, Billboard adds.
Santos, who is also a songwriter, record producer and actor, was the featured composer and former lead singer of the Bachata group Aventura, where he was dubbed the "King of Bachata." Santos recently teamed up with Marc Anthony for "Yo También" and posted the official video via Twitter.
Iglesias, a 19-time finalist this year who continues to stay fresh, is competing for 15 awards including: Artist of the Year; Social Artist of the Year; Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Male; Latin Pop Songs Artist of the Year, Solo; Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year, Solo; and Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male.
Julion Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda, are up for six awards this year.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards 2015 will air live from Miami on the Telemundo network on Thursday, April 30 at 7pm/6c from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Florida.
