Lady Gaga and "Chicago Fire" actor Taylor Kinney are engaged to be married, sealing the deal when he proposed to her over the Valentine's Day weekend.

The Time Herald-Record reports the happy couple shared their news with family and friends at her family's Upper West Side Restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, on Saturday.

The newspaper adds the couple has dated for about four years and all evening long Gaga could be overheard telling family members "it was time." Later, her father and restaurant co-owner, Joe Germanotta, popped open a bottle of bubbly to celebrate the occasion.

Rumors of the couple perhaps taking things to the next level had circulated since around Christmas, when Gaga hinted on her Twitter page about the two being on the verge of planing their nuptials.

According to Us Weekly, the pair first met in 2011 on the set of the colorful singer's "You & I" music video. In the video, the 28-year-old Gaga wore her mother's actual wedding dress as her and co-star Kinney displayed their affections for one another.

Within months of the shoot, the two were actually dating. They briefly split in May of 2012, but reconciled the next month and since then things have seemingly gone swimmingly.

"He is the right guy," Gaga recently told Howard Stern during an interview. "How do we know? It's this feeling."

Not long after, Kinney told Us Weekly, "[She] is someone who's always in your corner, that believes in you and your work, and vice versa. You know, I love what she does and her work and music and charity. She inspires so many people including myself."

The "Born This Way" singer has previously been romantically linked to Luc Carl, Matthew "Dada" Williams and Robert Fusari.
