Fans are claiming they spotted Niall Horan kissing a mystery brunette in Melbourne, Australia, over the weekend.

The One Direction member and his rumored new girlfriend were apparently making out at a bar in Crown Casino on Sunday, while on a night out with bandmate Harry Styles.

"OMG Niall Horan and Melissa," an eyewitness revealed on Twitter (via Daily Mail). "They were seen in a casino, they kissed. And he held her by the waist and playing with her hair."

The girl in question is an Australian student studying in journalism and aspiring singer-songwriter named Melissa Anne Whitelaw. An Instagram account (@edgeofmydesire) claiming to be the 21-year-old recently wrote:

"For all you asking yeah Niall and I dating. Niall has not posted about because we have decided we will wait until it's the right time. I haven't done anything to any of you so please stop sending me mean comments."

The couple fueled dating rumors earlier this month, when a brunette woman that looked like Whitelaw came out of a plane in Sydney right behind Horan.

While the hashtag "#CongratsNiallandMelissa" is trending, a source denied the recent claims and insisted the two are nothing but good friends.

"Niall and Melly have known each other for ages," the source claimed to The Sun (via CapitalFM). "They didn't kiss on Sunday. He was just leaning in to talk to her because of the noise in the bar."
