Selena Gomez reportedly wants no part in in ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber's upcoming Comedy Central roast, even though she has formally been asked to take part in the highly-anticipated event.

According to HollywoodLife.com, 22-year-old Gomez has no interest in publicly ridiculing Bieber, presumably about the volatile nature of their own-again, off-again relationship.

The 20-year-old Bieber is slated to go on the hot seat on March 30. A source told the website part of Gomez's reluctance to be on hand for the festivities has to do with her rumored new boyfriend, Zedd.

"She's been asked to participate but feels like it would be disrespectful towards Zedd," the source said. "Zedd told her she can do whatever she wants, but Selena feels like he's just being polite."

After yet another public breakup with Bieber, Gomez and Zedd recently began dating after spending time working together, according to rumors.

"Zedd had liked Selena for a long time, and when he had a chance to work with her it was a dream come true because he wanted to make it something more," the source said. "At first, Selena wanted zero romance but thought he was a cool guy as she was still all about Justin."

The source added the two finally started to see each other "around the Golden Globes," but only after first coming up with a plan to make it look like they were more than they were to one another at that point.

"They devised a plan to make it look like a romance was blossoming," the website reported. "They thought it would help with the release of the song ['I Want You To Know'] being in the news all the time."

Meanwhile, Bieber recently vowed to change his controversial ways in order to win back his ex. In recent months, he has had several run-ins with police, including being arrested for dangerously driving his minivan and vandalizing the home of a neighbor, causing around $80,000 in damages.
