Peyton Manning has reportedly informed the Denver Broncos that he wants to return next season. While no announcement has been made about Manning, new coach Gary Kubiak made it clear that he wants their veteran quarterback to continue playing.

Recent rumors suggested that the Broncos, who replaced former coach John Fox after last season, are unsure about welcoming Manning back for another season after making coaching changes.

Kubiak, who has reportedly talked to Manning after he was hired to replace Fox, told reporters on Tuesday that he wants Manning to continue leading the team and he expects the 38-year-old to do so.

"I'm expecting him to come back," Kubiak said via The Denver Post. "We want to play with him. This organization has won a lot of games with him and we want to get back and do it again. Expecting him to come back."

According to Nick Shook of NFL.com, several general managers in the league are also unsure if the Broncos truly want Manning back on their roster next season.

Manning, who has played in Denver over the past three seasons after spending 13 years with the Indianapolis Colts, was a shadow of his old self in their final games of the 2014 NFL season.

Manning completed 66.2 percent of his passes for 4,727 yards with 39 touchdowns last season, but failed to make an impact during their 24-13 loss to the Colts in the AFC divisional round. In a crucial loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in their second-to-the-last regular-season game, Manning had four interceptions.

The 16-year veteran is scheduled to earn $19 million next season, which will be fully guaranteed if he is still on the roster on March 9 when the free-agency period begins.

Sources said that no announcement about Manning's future has been made because the Broncos are not sure if Manning is still worth $19 million, considering his injury history and struggles last season, but Kubiak played down all speculation, saying that team owner John Elway has had good discussions with the QB.

"I don't think there's any hold up at all," Kubiak said. "He and John are working through the process. That's been the plan all along, the way I understand it."

Elway, who met with Manning last week to discuss his future, has been saying all along that they want him to return next season for another possible title run.
