Those who are hoping to play Grand Theft Auto 5 on their PC may be in luck, but not until the first quarter of 2014.

Reports are pointing towards an early 2014 release date for GTA 5 on the PC. The game was released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in 2013 and was highly successful, breaking more than a half dozen Guiness World Records.

Chris Silva, who serves as the Director of Marketing for Intel's notebooks, told PC Gamer last month that he expects the game to be out on PC sooner rather than later.

"I don't think it'll be console-exclusive very long. But that's what happens when you have a brand new launch with two companies that have lots of money trying to make sure they have content," Silva said. "Somebody paid a lot of money to make sure that title was exclusive."

An online petition at change.org is asking Rockstar Games to release the game on PC and more than 632,000 people have signed up thus far.

"Please release GTA V on PC," the petition reads. "GTA games have been a large part of so many people's lives and it's a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have."

Although people are growing impatient, the process was similar in 2008. GTA 4 was initially only released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 but then was brought to the PC later in the year.
