It is approaching three weeks since Nick Gordon and friend Max Lomas found Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, face down and unconscious in a bathtub. Gordon, 25, has been desperately trying to see Brown, who he refers to as his "love," reports NBC News.

"Nick has been trying privately, to do everything he can to see Bobbi Kristina cooperatively," Gordon's lawyers Randall Kessler and Joe Habachy told ABC News. "He has respected the family's wishes and for that reason alone has not returned to the hospital and risked a public confrontation. But he desperately wants to be with the one he loves and continues to hope that his request will be granted."

This marks the second time Gordon has spoken out through his lawyers.

Last week, Kessler adamantly denied reports Gordon was planning to take legal action so that he could see Brown, who remains hospitalized and on a ventilator at Atlanta's Emory Hospital. Kessler said his "only concern is the recovery of Bobbi Kristina.

"He remains in constant prayer for his companion and he hopes to be reunited with her soon," Kessler continued.

Although Gordon and Brown had told reporters previously they married last year, Christopher Brown, legal counsel for Brown's father Bobby Brown, told ABC News in early February, "To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon."

Gordon and Brown started their relationship following the 2012 death of Brown's mother, Whitney Houston. Previously, Gordon lived with Houston and her family for nearly a decade.

Gordon, who is not officially family, has been under police scrutiny and is not on good terms with some of Brown's family members.

Whitney Houston's sister and Brown's aunt, Patricia Houston, has a protective order against Gordon that prohibits him from being within 200 feet of her. Gordon reportedly has not been allowed in the town house where he and Brown lived, which is controlled by the aunt.

Despite reports that Brown's organs are failing, her father refuses to take her off the ventilator. The 21-year-old remains comatose and on life support.
