Former porn star turned "Entourage" actress Sasha Grey is enraged her photo was used in a fake news story related to the armed conflict between Ukraine's government forces and pro-Russian separatists.

On Tuesday, Grey posted on Twitter she's furious about being part of what she calls a Russian "propaganda" plot.

The Moscow Times reports Grey's likeness was used in a fake post on Russian social network VKontakte that claimed a nurse named "Sasha Serova" was captured by Ukrainian military forces who filmed themselves "humiliating" her before killing her with an ax.

People thought it was Grey because "Serova" is the Russian word for "Grey." The post went viral and reaped sympathy for the actress, who was neither murdered nor a nurse.

No video of the alleged atrocity surfaced.

"I <3 my Russian fans, but this propaganda takes it too far," Grey tweeted. "News that I was a NURSE killed in the Russian/Ukraine conflict."

"People are losing family members & BS outlets mock the deceased with Fappery like this," Grey wrote in another Twitter post.

This is not the first time Grey has found herself used for propaganda.

Grey tweeted in December 2013 for Ukraine to "stay strong" during the Kiev protests. Russian bloggers slammed her for the sentiment, accusing her of supporting the pro-Western protesters.

She reminded Twitter followers on Wednesday she had once been harshly criticized for her alleged support of the Kiev protest movement but was now being glorified for a fake tale of her grisly death at the hands of pro-Kiev forces.

"So to make it clear, first I was the enemy and now I'm a friend because this [the killing of the nurse] was supposedly the fault of Ukrainians," she wrote.

Grey is not a huge celebrity in Russia, but she is known for her multi-episode appearance on the HBO hit show "Entourage," which has a significant following in the country.
