Woman Dubbed 'Michelangelo of Buttocks Injections' Stands at Murder Trial After Death of London Dancer, Says She Wants to Tell Her Side of the Story
A transgender Gothic hip-hop artist who performed illegal cosmetic surgery said she was dubbed "the Michelangelo of butt injections" as she stood at her murder trial on Thursday, the Associated Press reported via ABC News.
Padge Victoria Windslowe of Philadelphia is accused of killing dancer Claudia Aderotimi from London during an illegal procedure at an airport hotel. The artist who performs under the name "Black Madam," performed the surgery with industrial-grade silicone and Krazy Glue.
"Everyone was calling me 'the Michelangelo of buttocks injections,'" Windslowe said. "God's blessed my hands with everything I touch. I make lots of money, in lots of ways."
The 45-year-old woman is also charged with aggravated assault for performing illegal surgery on another dancer that resulted in hospitalization for two weeks.
Back in 2011, Windslowe was giving Aderotimi a "touch-up" to celebrate her birthday, but the dancer started to have trouble breathing during the procedure. Windslowe fled the hotel room during the complications, and Aderotimi was pronounced dead the next day.
"It's a nutso situation," defense lawyer David Rudenstein said. "It almost blows your mind listening to it."
Two clients testified Windslowe charged them up to $2,000 per session. They said she also told them she was an experienced nurse or a physician's assistant for a plastic surgeon.
Both victims, who received a procedure from Windslowe, said they worry they may develop serious health problems and already have frequent discomfort.
Scheffee Wilson said she was in the room when Windslowe performed the procedure on Aderotimi.
"She just kept saying she has chest pains, she has chest pains," Wilson said. "I was there all night. I was the one who called the ambulance."
Windslowe said Wilson is lying, and she will tell her side of the story to jurors.
"More than anything in the world, I want to get up there and I want to talk," Windslowe said. "The most important thing is to put Claudia's mother at peace by speaking."
Windslowe rejected a plea offer of 15-30 years in prison in exchange for a third-degree murder plea.
