It looks like Chad Johnson finally got the message - there's no hope for reconciliation with his estranged wife Evelyn Lozada.

TMZ is reporting that Johnson has filed divorce documents in which he admits the union is "irretrievably broken."

Johnson reportedly filed the papers on Sept. 14 in a Florida court, a month after Lozada filed the divorce.

The two signed a prenup when they wed on July 4. Their marriage lasted just 41 days, less than Kim Kardashian's 72 day marriage.

Lozada has requested that Johnson pay her legal fees, but in the documents that Johnson filed, he wants the judge to block Lozada's request, citing a provision in the prenup in which the two sides agreed to pay their own way if they were to split up.

Sources close to Lozada tell TMZ that she's "ecstatic" and ready to move on.

Johnson was officially been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after allegedly headbutting his estranged wife during an argument last month.

Johnson was arrested and charged and released on $2,500 bond and cut from the Dolphins' team.

Johnson was arraigned on Thursday on the misdemeanor domestic battery charge and his attorney entered a not guilty plea in Broward County Court If convicted, Johnson faces up to a year in jail.

Johnson recently got a picture of Lozada's face tattooed on his right leg with the name "Eve" underneath it.

Johnson and Lozada's fairytale life was taped for a show called "Ev & Ocho." It was set to debut Sept. 3, but was cancelled after the couple's debacle.
