One Direction New Songs & News Update 2015: Band Members Expect Harry Styles to Quit, Go Solo in 'Near Future' as He May Sign With Ex-Girlfriend Cara Delevingne's Agent?
Harry Styles might leave One Direction to pursue his solo career in music, as well as to set foot in the film industry.
According to HollywoodLife.com, the 1D heartthrob wants to have a new, more mature image.
"Harry would love to break out on his own as a solo artist. He really wants to get away from the teeny-bop stuff and sing a rock record," a source said. "When he first auditioned for 'X Factor,' he was a huge fan of English rockers Oasis and wanted to sing rock anthems just like them."
With that being said, Styles has apparently been working toward his ultimate goal.
"He's recorded with different producers in London and in Los Angeles. Although he doesn't want to completely alienate his fan base, his new music is a lot edgier," the source added. "Harry's One Direction bandmates have been waiting for the day he quits to go solo and anticipate it happening in the near future."
However, One Direction's PR team reportedly claimed that Hazza is currently recording music for the British boyband's upcoming fifth studio album with members Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.
"Harry has been in the studio working on the band's new album. Louis and Liam were also in LA recording on their own for the upcoming release," the team said.
In addition, Styles is considering signing with a major Hollywood agent to land some major acting roles, according to Daily Star.
Sharon Jackson, who represents the "Midnight Memories" crooner's ex-girlfriend Cara Delevingne, has apparently lined up three casting appointments for him if he signs with her.
"It is no secret Harry is desperate to break into acting. He loves being in the band but he wants to start exploring his other passions too," a source said. "Harry has been seeing an acting coach every time he's in L.A. and is incredibly focused on a move to the big screen. His actor friends, including 'Scrubs' star Zach Braff, have also been giving him tips."
