Brittany Murphy Murdered? Father Says Late Actress Was Poisoned
Britney Murphy's sudden death back in Dec. 2009 came to a shock to everyone. The 32-year old actress was found dead in her bathtub, cause of death; acute pneumonia and severe anemia caused by therapeutic drugs (Los Angeles County Coroner ruling).
Her father, Angelo Bertolotti, always felt there was foul play and that Brittany was actually murdered. Bertolotti recently funded an independent analysis of his late daughter's hair, which found "high levels of toxic metals, including Barium, used in some rat poisons". Angelo, from the beginning, stood firm by his claim that Brittany had been poisoned and "fought for access to her untested hair samples in the Los Angeles Superior Court" reports NY Daily News. He suggested in his court filling that "chronic arsenic poisoning is sometimes misdiagnosed as anemia", the case was dismissed that May.
At this point Bertolotti is fighting once again to re-open the case telling the Daily News "the lab has shown that she was poisoned with criminal intent". He says he wants the investigation open to "find out who did it". Many have their doubts about the motive behind Angelo Bertolotti's attempts. He is said to write a book about his daughter, but other than that he is just acting like a concern father. To add to this mystery, Brittany's husband, Simon Monjack, died five months later after her death from "the same cause" pneumonia, also something that makes this story very bizarre.
The "Clueless" actress with the big smile left many questions unanswered. A healthy, working woman does not just die of pneumonia, or does she? Though investigators find that opening the case would prove nothing further, standing by their cause of death, as said on a recent interview, I think many believe differently. Back in 2009, many felt that the case was closed too easily and then the death of her husband right after pointed her death in many directions. Would it be fair for her body to be exhumed? Should this case be re-opened? What do you think?
