Michelle Rodriguez will not be playing the part of the Green Lantern, and she thinks diversity in Hollywood is "stupid."

Rodriguez was stopped by a TMZ reporter and camera and asked if she would be playing the role of the Green Lantern. Rodriguez laughed and said: "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard!"

"I think it's so stupid because of this whole minorities in Hollywood thing. It's so stupid. Stop stealing all the white people's superheroes. Make up your own. What's up with that?" she continued.

Then, Rodriguez got in her car and drove away.

In recent years, there has been a trend of minorities playing superheroes in movies.

Michael B. Jordan, a black actor, will play the Human Torch, a.k.a. Johnny Storm, in this summer's upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Ten years ago that same role was played by white actor Chris Evans. Jason Momoa, a Hawaiian actor, will play Aquaman in a few upcoming movies, including "Justice League" and "Aquaman."

Samuel L. Jackson, a black actor, played Nick Fury in 2012's "The Avengers," even though Fury has previously been portrayed as white.

Writers of comic books and books like "The Hunger Games" might just want to be accurate when they recreate their works on the big screen, so casting actors that look like they do in the original works does make sense.

Rodriguez likely would not be happy if black actor Idris Elba plays James Bond. There is a petition to get Elba to play the spy floating around the Internet.

Elba responded back in 2011 saying: "I just don't want to be the black James Bond...Sean Connery wasn't the Scottish James Bond, and Daniel Craig wasn't the blue-eyed James Bond, so if I played him, I don't want to be called the black James Bond," Variety reports.

Daniel Craig has signed on to play Bond at least one more time for 2015's "Spectre." After him, could Elba get a shot? Stay tuned.

What do you think of minority actors playing normally white characters?
