Giada De Laurentiis, Food Network host, had a little accident while slicing a turkey on a live broadcast for her Holiday special on Saturday, reports Radar Online. The famous chef was hosting and cooking as normal when the knife got a little bit too close to her hand and wham! Her index finger was deeply sliced.

Reports say that "she seemed to go pale and got very quiet, putting pressure on it and whispering to Ina Garten, her co-star, that it was bad...she looked like she was about to faint". De Laurentiis flashed out of there to medically take care of her finger and returned in about 15 minutes to finish the broadcast, which hasn't been replayed since it originally aired. Well, we can say one thing, she is very brave for coming back, many of us would have probably hid in a room, crying for the rest of the show.

At the end, Giada's incident turned out well. She went to the hospital and got some stitches on her finger, posting a video of herself just before her finger was stitched up. Co-star and fellow cook Alton Brown jokingly tweeted "We did locate the end of Giada's left index finger in the stuffing. Rushing to hospital now", with the hash tag "#savegiada's finger". Even though the cut was deep Giada seemed to be humorous about it as well, posting a picture on Instagram of her injured finger with the caption "An adjustment to my normal mani! #backtonormalin2wks #thanksgivinglive".

The reality of this incident is that things like this do happen. Even chefs have their accidents here and then, so be careful this year while joyfully slicing your turkey and rushing in the kitchen. Be aware of how close your knife is to your hands, you don't want to end up posting a picture of your bloody and bruised finger on that "Thanksgiving 2013" online album...yikes!
