On Thursday, March 5, Kim Kardashian debuted her platinum blonde locks for the first time on Instagram, Billboard reports.

Kardashian -- who is known for her signature brunette hair -- opted to go for a bold blonde look prior to attending this year's Paris Fashion Week festivities.

In the Instagram photo, Kardashian is shown posing for a selfie with her new hairdo next to her stylists and glam squad who made this new look possible.

Kardashian captioned the photo with thank you messages to her hair and makeup team consisting of Joyce Bonelli who inspired the look, Gregory Russell who cut and trimmed her hair, and Lori Goddard who dyed her hair blonde.

Goddard recently spoke with the Huffington Post about what inspired Kardashian's new look and what the process was like to transform the reality-TV star from brunette to platinum blonde.

Goddard named Paris Fashion week as the reason for Kardashian's "blonde ambition." "It is a time for adventure-chic shades to be shown," she explained.

Goddard also added that the process from brunette to blonde was an extremely difficult procedure that required several hours to fulfill. "It is extremely difficult to take dark hair to platinum as it shifts the condition of the hair but hair can be kept strong if the proper conditions are taken," said Goddard. "Always start with a strand test to establish if hair is strong enough to take the platinum journey and begin the hair process away from the scalp working with ends first as the scalp exudes heat, which quickens the process."

So far, Kardashian's new look has received mixed reactions. Some of her fans have gone on social media to say how much they love the look, while most fans and critics have slammed the new hair color and created memes to make fun of Kardashian's transformation, VH1 reports.

Nonetheless, Kardashian appears to be loving her look considering the amount of photos she has posted from Paris Fashion Week with her new hairdo.
