First Lady Michelle Obama voiced her support for immigration reform on Twitter this week after President Barack Obama addressed the issue during a west coast trip.

The tweet, which was more specifically directed at the Fast for Familes activists that have been camping outside at the United States Capitol for two weeks now with hopes of bringing about awareness to speed up immigration reform in the nation.

"As families begin to gather for Thanksgiving, I'm thinking of the brave #Fast4Families immigration reform advocates. We're with you," she wrote.

The First Lady also signed her initials to show that the tweet was sent out by her directly as opposed to Obama staff members who often update the President and the First Lady's Twitter accounts.

Immigration activists have enjoyed the extra publicity in recent days ever since President Obama engaged in an brief, yet impromptu discussion on stage with a young person who interrupted his speech by calling for faster change. The heckler said that the president should use his executive powers to stop deportations, but Obama said he does not have those powers and that instead change needs to happen via legislation.

"The easy way out is to try to yell and pretend like I can do something by violating our laws," the president said in response. "And what I'm proposing is the harder path, which is to use our democratic processes to achieve the same goal that you want to achieve. But it won't be as easy as just shouting. It requires us lobbying and getting it done."
