Black Friday has turned into Black Thursday, at least for Microsoft's Surface and Touch PC.

The Surface Pro is now $100 off the previously listed price and tablet users can get the 64 GB version for only $699 while the Surface RT will be $199.

Microsoft has marketed the Surface Pro 2 as a tablet that could serve as a much more convenient alternative to a bulky laptop.

With a next-gen Intel Core i5 processor providing incredibly fast performance and longer battery life, Surface Pro 2 is the tablet that can replace your laptop

The Surface, on the other hand, is much cheaper yet it is known to be one of the most comprehensive options when it comes to buying a tablet.

"Surface was designed to be the one device for everything in your life," Microsoft says. "Every Surface offers ports, Office compatibility, and Covers. Whatever you want to imagine, create, and share-Surface makes it possible to do it all. And more."

In a review for TIME, Jared Newman talked about how he was given a 30-day window to return his Surface Pro 2 and in the end he was so impressed that he opted to keep it.

"It's no iPad Air in terms of comfort, but the Surface Pro 2 is as good of a tablet as it gets for something that also tries to be a laptop," he said. "That's entirely because of the kickstand, which keeps you from having to hold the two-pound device up with your hands. I enjoyed folding the Type or Touch Cover underneath the kickstand and propping the tablet up on my legs or stomach so I could quickly switch back to laptop mode as needed."
