Nike Release Dates 2015, Price & Where to Buy: LeBron 12 ‘What If’ Coming Out, ‘Cereal’ Edition Delayed [Pics]
Nike will release two new editions of the latest signature shoe of the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James with the first one hitting shelves this weekend.
The LeBron 12 will arrive at retailers on Saturday in Deep Royal Blue/Metallic Silver/Lyon Blue/White colorway, which is officially listed as the "What If" edition of the popular signature model.
According to Nike, this edition, which features a blue-based upper part combined with metallic silver hints, was inspired by the athletic skills of James, and the never-ending question about how James will fare if he decides to play other sports like football instead of basketball.
"For LeBron, the sky's the limit. The latest colorway of the LeBron 12 represents his infinite athletic potential with a Deep Royal Blue and Metallic Silver upper, a translucent blue outsole and sky blue laces," Nike wrote in a statement. "This colorway asks us, "What if...?" What if LeBron pursued another passion or was a multi-sport athlete?"
The LeBron 12 "What If" edition, which has been getting a lot of attention online over the past several days, will be available for $200 on Nike.com starting 10 a.m. EDT on Saturday. Official photos and more details about this excellent-looking edition of the LeBron 12 are available on this link.
Meanwhile, parents who are looking to give their children a fresh pair of the LeBron 12 will have to wait a big longer as Nike moved the release date of the highly-anticipated "Cereal" edition.
The LeBron 12 "Cereal" edition, which is officially listed as the Black/Multi-Color-Black colorway, was originally scheduled for release Wednesday, March 11. However, Nike announced on Tuesday that it will not be released until next Wednesday, March 18.
This colorway, which also being dubbed by many as the "Fruity Pebbles" edition, was reportedly inspired by James' favorite breakfast and usual after-game snack.
"From 4th grader to 2-time champ, LeBron's favorite snack growing up is still a go-to after games," Nike noted, referring to cereal. "These kids-only kicks cover the LeBron 12's game-elevating explosion with 7 spoon-slamming colors -- perfect for everything from fast breaks to breakfast."
The LeBron 12 "Cereal" will be available for $160 in gradeschool sizes, $90 for preschool sizes and $60 for toddler sizes on Nike.com and select retailers worldwide. Official photos of this edition are available here.
