Selena Gomez proves two things on Thanksgiving Day: that she's one of the hottest pop stars today, and that she's got a golden heart beating in her chest. The former Disney star performed for the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle campaign at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, impressing the football crowd with a three-song set, according to MTV News.

Giving up her Thanksgiving holiday for a good cause makes the teen star's stellar performance even more meaningful, as she stunned the whole stadium with her hot song-and-dance number during the NFL game featuring the Oakland Raiders versus the Dallas Cowboys. (Watch her wow the crowd below.)

The 21-year-old brunette kicked off her performance with the track, "Like a Champion," with an army of dancers and cheerleaders backing her up. She next sang the single, "Slow Down," ripping her leather skirt off midway through the song to reveal some sexy, leather hot pants. The pop star then closed her performance with her recent hit, "Come & Get It." (Check some of her performance photos here).

The "Love You Like a Love Song" hitmaker tweeted afterwards, "Thx @SalvationArmyUS @DallasCowboys for having me. #RedKettle Let's all give a little. https://onlineredkettle.org/selenagomez,"

In 2012, the Salvation Army was able to raise about $150 million from a football match similar to last night's to help families in need. This year, with Selena Gomez helping the organization out, they'd undoubtedly be successful again, Mail Online notes.

Apart from being an entertainer, Selena Gomez is also known for her philanthropy. She has participated in various charity benefits and campaigns. In 2009, Gomez was named as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, being the designated spokesperson for the "Trick or Treat" campaign that aimed at raising awareness on the condition of children in Ghana. The Disney star also travelled to Congo as part of the ENOUGH Project team, and has helped countless charities such as Borden Milk and Island Dogs, according to Look to the Stars.
