Jennette McCurdy & Ariana Grande Feud: Actress Says She & 'Break Free' Singer 'Butted Heads' Like Sisters
Jennette McCurdy says she and former "Sam & Cat" co-star Ariana Grande have butted heads in the past, but in a "sisterly way," E! News reports.
"I just feel that, you know Ariana and I were and are extremely close and very like-minded in a lot of different ways and then, sorta as the show dissolved, everybody wanted to find some sort of hidden meaning in our relationship," McCurdy said.
"Some like drama and I think we butted heads at times but in a very sisterly way. She knows me so well and I know her so well that I think it was unfortunate that things kind of got misconstrued."
The former Nickelodeon star said working next to Grande for such long hours throughout the years have created a bond so strong that it could not be penetrated.
"Once you're around that person for ... 16 hours a day ... It's natural that you're going to have some ups and downs," she said.
"But you bond so much and you're so close that you can't go through that experience and ... I can't imagine a world where you would not come out extreme friends.
"I mean I have bonds with both Miranda Cosgrove and Ariana that are impenetrable."
Meanwhile, Netflix is launching Jenette McCurdy's new thriller "Between," which premieres March 21, according to TV Guide. McCurdy plays an expectant teen named Wiley in the thriller.
And Ariana Grande is focusing on her music career where she is currently on the "Honeymoon Tour," Twist Magazine reports.
Her boyfriend, rapper Big Sean, has been very supportive on the tour, joining her on stage, kissing her in front of the stadium and snapping selfies backstage.
Pop Dust reports that the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, teased that she and Grande will do a duet together.
Grande has covered several of Franklin's iconic hits, creating her own blends of '60s soul with contemporary pop and R&B.
