‘Basketball Wives’ Cast & News: Laura Govan Opens up About Recent Miscarriage [Pics]
On Thursday, March 5, "Basketball Wives" star Laura Govan took to Instagram to reveal to her fans that she had a miscarriage about a month ago, BET reports.
Govan explained that the recent miscarriage took its toll on her mental, emotional, and physical health which in turned caused her to stay isolated from social events and the media.
"I wanted to share something with U guys and why I've been out of the loop, well #NRealLife for the past three months I've been sick, and extremely exhausted and about a month ago I found out that I was pregnant with my 5th baby, which I thought was impossible," she wrote on Instagram. "Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. When it happened I didn't want to talk about or deal with it."
But now that some time has passed, Govan revealed that she is ready to bounce back and "get my life back on track!" Govan's first step in recovering will be losing the 15 pounds she gained during her depression.
"I gained a good 15 pounds during this rough time in my life," she wrote. "I want you to rock with me as I take this journey of losing the weight and getting ME back ... because this is something REAL that happens every day to women like you and me and it's real easy to feel alone, confused and unsure about how to handle or deal with the struggle."
Prior to announcing the news about her miscarriage, Govan was last spotted on the red carpet for "The Wedding Ringer" premiere, where she suffered a wardrobe malfunction that exposed her breasts.
Following the nip slip, Govan's former brother-in-law Matt Barnes slammed Govan and her sister, Gloria, for allegedly being unfit mothers.
"S/O 2 all the real mothers out there who take of their responsibilities. Not on EVERY red carpet or flyin all over the country chasing ....?" he tweeted and later deleted.
"I [salute] yall.. NOTHING on this earth should come b4 your children. Also S/O the dads that handle their business..!Always keep your kids 1st," he continued.
